How it works

Three moves and a Sunday

Your first sticker is free, with no account and no card. Here is every way onto the wall, at what it costs today.

  • Free, once a day

    Slap

Type your site. Your sticker lands somewhere random on this week's wall and links back to you.

  • It will happen

    Get covered

Newer stickers land on top and cover part of yours. If you switched on email alerts, we tell you who did it.

  • $1 to $3, or aim it

    Slap back

Slap again somewhere random, or Slap over to land exactly on whoever buried you.

  • 20:00 UTC

    Sunday

If the wall is at least 60% full, anything older than two days is scraped, except the newest 40. The wall is painted a new colour, the spots stay, and next week's go to the top bids.

Every way onto the wall

Free slap
Free
Once a day, somewhere random.
Slap again
$1 to $3
Somewhere random. $1 for each sticker on yours, so it costs more the deeper you are buried.
Slap over
From $1
Aim it exactly on someone. One price for everyone, shown before you pay: each Slap over raises it 25%, it halves every three minutes nobody slaps over, and it never passes $50. For 60 seconds after, random slaps keep off it.
Giant slap
From $5
One sticker at 2.5 times the size, where you aim, at four times Slap over's price now. For three minutes after, random slaps keep off it.
Sticker bomb
From $5
Eight at once around your aim, yours on top, at five times Slap over's price now. For 60 seconds after, random slaps keep off each one.
Holo slap
$5
Aimed, in holographic vinyl, at one flat price. For 60 seconds after, random slaps keep off it.
Your wallet
Paid slaps come out of it. Top it up with $5, $20 or $50, or any whole dollar amount from $5, up to $200 in it at once. It's spent only on Slapwars, never cashed out, and what you haven't spent is refunded on request within 30 days of buying it. Past $200 in a day, every purchase asks you twice.
Size
A sticker grows with what its owner has spent on Slapwars, up to 2.1 times the size of a free one.

Paid slaps come out of your wallet. You see the price before you slap, and never pay more than it shows. The giant slap and the sticker bomb follow Slap over's price, never past $200, and buying one doesn't move it.

House rules

  • Slaps are final

Ten seconds to peel it back off. After that it stays where it landed until the cleaner takes it. Every Sunday, if the wall is at least 60% full, the cleaner comes at 20:00 UTC and scrapes anything older than two days, except the newest 40.

  • Nothing is deleted

A scraped sticker goes to the past walls. Its page, its link and its clicks keep working, and what you've spent stays yours. Past walls

  • Spots can't be covered

Aimed slaps can't land on them, and random ones never do.

  • Nothing is staged

No bots, no fake counters, no seeded grudges. Every number here is real, even the small ones.

  • Names and links are checked

Slurs, scams and unsafe links don't get on the wall.

  • Your sticker

Free, with no account. A name of up to 24 characters, a link to your site, and a logo if you have one (PNG, JPEG or WebP). It prints the logo or the name, never both. Edit sticker, under You, cleans up a logo or picks a name's colour and shape, free.

  • Links

Every sticker links to its site, through Slapwars's counter and marked nofollow, so it sends people, not search ranking, and each click is counted. Spend unlocks a followed link: once you've paid for and spent $19 here and verified your domain, your page links straight to your site, marked sponsored.

  • This wall only

It's a wall made for stickers. Please don't slap real lampposts.

How the spots are sold

Three spots at the top of the wall that nothing covers. Each one goes to the highest bid for a week at a time: #1 opens at $500, #2 at $250, #3 at $100.

  • A bid holds money, it doesn't charge. Only the leading bid is held; outslapped, it's released at once.
  • Beat the top by 5% or $10. Whichever is more. You pay what you bid. No auto-bidding.
  • Closes Sunday 20:00 UTC. A bid in the last 5 minutes adds 5 more, up to 2 hours past the close.
  • Bidding opens a day after the close. So no hold sits on your card for more than a week.
  • The winner is charged at the close. And holds the spot for the week after it.
